Ubuntu 9.10 vs Windows 7

So i think the whole world (at least big amount of PC users) are waiting for the big new thing coming in this end of October. I guess those Windows users/fans will be sure waiting when Windows 7 will reach their nearest software store in town. But for some users, they might be waiting for something different. Yes, it is the latest release of the popular Linux distro name Ubuntu, in version 11 or 9.10 (means release in 2009 October). For me, I am more expecting the new Ubuntu, codenamed Karmic Koala. I am now using Ubuntu 9.04 codenamed Jaunty Jackalope which was released 6 months ago and really satisfied with this Operating System. I feel I am more like a power user when key in the root password and when executing a sudo command; compared to the UAC in Windows Vista. I am looking forward to some improvements in Ubuntu 9.10 since last release rather than wasting my time to try out the so call new Windows 7 that come nothing new since the failure of Windows Vista. 5 days to go until Ubuntu 9.10 officially available to upgrade. Anyone is free to download the beta version and get the official release while Windows 7 RC is now unavailable for download. One thing that I am looking forward so much is the eye-candy of login screen. I expect nothing exciting in Windows 7 while a BIG WOW in the new Ubuntu 9.10 (Check this). Of course, users can customize their login screen and desktop theme but I am a lazy user and I am happy with the default, somemore if it comes up to be something nice. There are many reasons why I want to dump Windows and switch to Linux and I am sure you can find the answers easily in the web.
