Here is a quick guide to clone the vdi file:
1. Open Command Prompt by typing cmd in Run or search box.

2. Type the path where you store your vdi file (in my case is D:\Virtualbox). Type the command as the example below:

“C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\VBoxManage.exe” clonevdi “Windows 7.vdi” “Windows 7 clone.vdi”

After the cloning completed, I find out the filesize is smaller than the original file.

3. Create a new Machine and load the harddisk from existing file. You are now ready to start your clone virtual machine.
