I am not sure how true is this. I just received an email with the subject “Fw: HONDA FREED – SUV (END 2009) RM80K – RM90K”. If it is true, I think it will affect the sales of Perodua coming MPV.

I bought a copy of Linux Format (LXF) magazine last Saturday after I had a Windows Workflow workshop at AmCorp Mall for RM14.90 together with 2 smartphone or PDA magazines for RM9.90 each.  I am happy to get my first Linux magazine as a start up to my “Tux” journey. I can see a very bright future of Linux especially with the recently popular gadget call Netbook. It is very worth to get LXF because the magazine comes with a free Ubuntu DVD with the ODS installation and guides. I haven’t explore the DVD yet but I found the contents of the magazine is very interesting to continue reading. I wish I could get the next copy of LXF when I see one.

Before this new facelift is launched, I have seen some spyshots from MyviClub and Myvi.com.my forum. I feel disappointed with Perodua this time. Since they launched the Perodua Nautica, I see there are something wrong with the way they produce cars. Forget about Nautica, let’s talk about this facelift.

I think Perodua is too rush to announce the new facelift for Myvi. Yes, they have plan to improve the current Myvi and Myvi SE. For the new facelift, Perodua has introduce new colour like Medallion Grey and Carribean Blue.

The new front bonnet made the Myvi looks more like a frog. The emblem position made me feel that it is try to imitate latest Proton Saga and Suzuki Swift.

The dashboard look like designed by the same people in Proton. Colourful but not practical. Other than it has now add on with the door indicator, the right circle look like so empty with only the temperature gauge.

Standard Myvi will come with a radio which look very ugly and poor quality than made in China product. For premium, it comes with a MP3/WMA,bluetooth,USB radio player.

My final words are, in my opinion Perodua seems like following his brother, Proton’s way. Not much improvement that is practical. No improvement in performance or added feature.
